Friends and Family!
Thank you all for your support and love you guys are
great I am so fortunate to have friends like you!
This was another awesome week with some interesting
things happening.
I ate for the first time at CiCis Pizza buffet! That was
great! :)
Then the next day we did service for a guy moving all of
his stuff into a big moving truck. He is moving to Idaho. Then after about 5
hours he takes everybody's order for pizza and then triples it. So everybody
had 3 pizzas for themselves (like 10 people were there)!
We received a referral from the zone leaders, a person
who just got out of jail wanted to here about the gosple we talked with him a
lot and he is really interested and wants his guilt taken away! It's amazing
that with Jesus Christ's help he can be completely free of guilt! I have
experienced it myself!
We then did some service for an older lady she was
getting rid of some of her stuff (a lot of stuff) and had us put it in some big
rentable dumpsters. She had a giant pile of stuff in her back yard. It was like
an adventure going through it all. I found a snake! I even caught it and got to
hold it! Luckily it was only 4 inches long and a garden snake ;). Then we ran
into a couple wasp nests! We would pull something off of the pile then we would
realize that it had a wasp nest in it when like 20 wasps would come out of it
very unhappy....
Another experience with wasps, we have a really big wasp
nest right outside our apartment porch. They have been getting annoying because
it's so big their are most likely 50- 100 wasp in the nest. One evening when it
was dark we decided to take care of it. We opened the door took a broom stick
and smacked it so that it went flying from off the wall. Then we slammed the
door closed and we saw tons of wasps come out and try to attack us through the
door window. (We were safe) What would you do if you house was hurled across a
room? ;)
Love you guys!
I know this church is the church of God and I invite you
know to.
Jesus Christ lives!
-Elder Enoch Max Thompson
Dear family and friends,
This was an awesome week I mean I rode a bike for the
first time on my mission!
I started the week of by going on an exchange
(intercambio) with An English Elder. I learned very quickly that my mission
(Spanish
Speaking) and English speaking missions are very
different, I like mine a lot more. I have learned more and more how this exact
mission, the language, my trainer, my area, are all specifically for me! It's
amazing to see how my weaknesses are being worked on here!
While with this English Elder I was able to ride a bike.
I didn't ride mine but I rode another elders bike and it was hard and fun at
the same time. Texas is hilly so we would have a hard time climbing to the top
of a hill then we would go really fast and just have a good time going down hill.
I liked it. But you learn how to
appreciate cold Air Conditioning.
This week we did some service at a food bank. We had fun
moving giant crates taller than me just filled with Mac and cheese!
Later that week I went on an Exchange with our zone leaders.
We had a great time teaching a family the restoration. I feel like I have
forgotten English because it was surprisingly hard to teach in English. I'm
like as you look at the "folleto" what do you see? They were like
what? Folleto means pamflet in Spanish. So that was a funny adventure.
This Sunday we had an investigator come to church. It was
fast and testimony meting so he was able to here all of the wonderful
testimonies of the members that the church is true.
Love you all,
I testify to you all that Jesus Christ lives and that he
is our savior and that we can live forever in happiness through him and his
doctrine. He loves us and so he gave us the Bible and The Book of Mormon to
teach us how to have more faith in Him. I know that this church, the church of
Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. It was restored from Christ's
original church on the earth when he was alive through Joseph Smith. God lives
and loves you I know it. If you don't know for yourself find out now by asking
the one person you can really trust. Your God, in the name of Jesus Christ.
You will be blessed
I love you.
-Elder Thompson
